Port-O-Sport Golf Course Signage was founded in 1997 by Jim & Donna Schwan of Beaverton, Ontario. Jim previously had a business, manufacturing and selling dry erase coaches boards for all sports. Initially Jim started selling signage to golf courses in Ontario, and progressed to sell products across Canada. The move to shatter proof products for on course signage and proximity markers has made Port-O-Sport very popular as well as having the ability to deliver orders quickly and efficiently. Jim & Donna sold the business to Mark & Angela Durand in the fall of 2008. Mark has been in the turf industry for over a decade, where he started as a pro shop attendant, transforming to a Golf Course Superintendent, and now a Sales Representative for the Ontario Seed Company in Waterloo, Ontario. Mark is responsible for sales, marketing and product development. Angela was the production manager and quality control officer at Jamco Trailers in Brucefield, Ontario. Angela is now responsible for manufacturing, processing, and administrative duties for Port-O-Sport Golf Course Signage.
